Mission Statement

Founded in 2009, the Respiro Underwater Research Society is a non-profit, volunteer foundation dedicated to researching, documenting and preserving the underwater habitat and all its components.

Because this is a vast area, we’ll start for the next years with something small: preserving our maritime heritage through the discovery, archaeological survey and conservation of shipwrecks and other archaeological sites of the Romanian waters.

Our purpose is also to reinforce public appreciation of our marine past, present and future by initiating and supporting projects designed to uncover and explore historically significant sites before they are lost and gone forever.

We dedicate our resources first to discover and then to create a Museum where all thise archaeological artifacts can be preserved and presented to the public.

Talking about Respiro Society is talking about a team. Respiro Society is supported by professional divers, archaeologists, scientists and other experts. All thise people eforts combined will help us achive outstanding results!
